We are looking for an Administrative Coordinator

Finnfund is a Finnish development financier and impact investor. We build a sustainable future and generate lasting impact by investing in businesses that solve global development challenges. We invest 200–250 million euros in 20–30 companies in developing countries each year. Our focus sectors include renewable energy, sustainable forestry, sustainable agriculture, financial institutions, and digital infrastructure and solutions. Today Finnfund’s investments and commitments total about 1.12 billion euros, half of them in Africa. The company has 100 employees. 

 

We are now looking for an

Administrative Coordinator

for a full-time, permanent position in Helsinki.

As a Coordinator, you will be based in the business development function of Finnfund’s Managing Director’s office and report to the Lead Economist. The Managing Director’s office covers Finnfund’s strategy development and follow up, a variety of business development functions as well as domestic and international relations. The team also works with country macroeconomic and political risk assessment for Finnfund’s investment decisions and portfolio monitoring.

What you will be doing

You will support the Managing Director and assist the business development team as well as other Finnfund teams when needed. As this is a new position, we hope that you are excited about developing both the scope of your work as well as other activities within both the team and Finnfund in general.

The key areas of responsibility include:

  • supporting the work of the Managing Director and the business development team
  • compiling and distributing materials for the Management Team
  • organising and scheduling events and meetings
  • coordinating the international and domestic stakeholder relations
  • assisting the team with travel arrangements and travel claims
  • updating relevant sections of the intranet
  • handling expenses
  • updating relevant databases with information around the financing process
  • acting as a substitute for administrative assistants

Who we are looking for

A successful candidate for this position is a proactive, flexible, and independent worker with excellent teamwork skills and an eye for detail. We are looking for a candidate with good written and oral communication skills both in Finnish and English. We hope that you have an active approach, an open mind and willingness to take on a broad range of tasks. You also need to have good time management skills and be able to prioritise your duties.

An ideal candidate should have a suitable degree from university of applied sciences or similar. Your background could be from a similar position where your role is to support your team members with daily, but critical routines. In today’s hybrid working environment, excellent IT skills are required. We are looking for a committed employee who wants to do meaningful work.
