Finnfund is a Finnish development financier and impact investor. We build a sustainable future and generate lasting impact by investing in businesses that solve global development challenges. We are now looking for a

Trainee

to Finnfund’s finance team for a full-time, 4-month position in Helsinki. The trainee period is from 1 May to 31 August.

What you will be doing

Finnfund’s finance team consists of 5 experienced professionals and you will be an important part of the team during the spring and summer months. The team provides support to the employees at Finnfund, handling several administrative tasks and using their expertise to make sure the daily operations are running smoothly.

As a trainee, you will

  • manage accounts payable ledger
  • process payment of purchase invoices and other payment transactions
  • process travel and expense invoices and payment and accounting materials
  • post bank statement transactions and transfer to accounting
  • process invoices, for example forwarding expenses
  • handle daily back office operations, mainly for fund investments
  • respond to queries and support Finnfund staff in relation to the matters mentioned above

Who we are looking for

An ideal candidate has for example vocational qualification in business and administration or a similar background. You can also be in the late phase of your studies. It’s important that you have a solid basic knowledge of accounting, VAT and bookkeeping procedures as well as some previous experience of similar tasks. You have a systematic and detail-oriented mindset. We value a positive attitude as well as taking initiative and responsibility.

The position requires good written and oral Finnish and English skills. In today’s hybrid working environment, excellent ICT skills are required.
