Project description

Penda Health is a chain of affordable medical centres in Nairobi, Kenya.
They operate a network of medical centers that offer outpatient primary healthcare services that are up to 83% cheaper than those offered by other high quality private healthcare providers. The company provides comprehensive outpatient health services including: obstetrics, gynecology, dental services, lab testing, maternal health services and preventative care among other primary healthcare services.

Penda plans to open a network of over 100 medical centers across East Africa which will ensure that medical services are available to most of the underserved low-income consumers in the region.

Main development impact

The main development impacts of the project come through provision of high-quality and
reasonable-priced healthcare services, in a country where public healthcare system is extremely low in quality and does not have the capacity to service all the population. The Penda Health services are designed to reach low-income, non-insured population with a strong emphases on women and children, most of whom would otherwise not have an access to reliable healthcare services at all.

Company is committed to provide quality services and its constantly measuring its performances through customer surveys and customer loyalty.

The project company employs currently over 100 persons and is expected to increase its
employees to over 500 persons in the course of next 3 years.
