Finnfund is a Finnish development finance company that provides long-term risk capital for profitable investments in developing
countries. We create jobs and prosperity by financing private sector projects. We frequently cooperate with Finnish companies.
A third of the employees at the Park Inn by Radisson in Newlands, Cape Town have hearing disabilities. Finnfund through Afrinord has provided funding for the project, which offers much-needed jobs for the deaf.
It is estimated that 1.6 million of South Africa’s population, about three percent, are deaf or hard of hearing. 70 percent of people with these disabilities are unemployed.
