Helena Arlander (45) has been appointed Investment Director with effect from 8 September 2003. Her tasks include managing and developing the ten-person investment operations team and being a member of Finnfund’s management team.

Investment operations team is responsible for assessing investment projects and for marketing Finnfund’s financial services both to corporate customers and to the financial organizations that are Finnfund’s partners.

Helena Arlander holds masters degrees in industrial engineering and in business administration. Since 1999 she has been Managing Director of Fennorating Ltd., making credit ratings of companies issuing public debt. Credit ratings by Fennorating are used in the collateral assessments of the Bank of Finland among others, and it also carries out corporate analyses for Finnish financiers and investors.

From 1995 to 1999, she was Head of the Counterpart Risk Management department at the SEB banking group’s Helsinki branch and a member of the management team. In 1984-94 she worked for the Industrialisation Fund of Finland, first as a corporate analyst and later as the Head of Corporate Analysis and management team member.

Helena Arlander is on the board of the Committee for Corporate Analysis and a member of its IAS working group.
